The morning was quiet; it seemed no different from any other morning. With its single delivery, a grey Ford shipping truck rumbled through the suburbs of Portland, Oregon. The vehicle seemed no different from any of the other trucks on the road; its cargo would have passed any inspection as ordinary.
Looks could be deceiving.
Everyone is getting ready for the Halloween party at Jerry’s Arcade.
It’s been the night the neighborhood kids have been waiting for.
It’s been the night the college kids have been waiting for.
It’s been the night they have been waiting for.
There’s a new machine being delivered to the arcade: it’s ready, it’s waiting, it’s killer.
Polybius.
It’s going to be game over … for everyone.

ASYLUM

A GAME CALLED QUEST

March 16th, 1982, a day that Donny has been waiting and planning for. Launch Day for Pac-Man on the Atari 2600. But an early start, endless queuing and a mad dash comes to nothing when bully Brian, who has been after Donny for years, steels his copy in the store. In an effort to cheer Donny up, his older sister, Amanda, takes him and his newfound compadre, Kevin, to an odd little shop downtown where the shop keep rents them an Atari game called Quest–and it is like nothing the three of them have seen before. They become sensually immersed in the world of Quintarria with the shop keep’s 3D controller contraption hooked to Donny’s Atari, and in this world, Donny, Amanda, and Kevin must defeat the evil overlord Serranti and bring peace to the land for the Elves, freeing them from the oppression of the dark Elves. While they race to finish the game, Brian and his cohorts try to keep the unlikely trio from finishing the game’s quest to free the Elves of Quintarria. Donny must not only save Quintarria and Earth, but find a way to stop Brian’s ongoing torment.

MONSTER HUNT

In a totally immersive world where players hunt monsters for money and glory, Walt leads one of the best teams around. Something has gone wrong with the game though. The safeties are off, there is no way out, and the monsters are hunting them. Death inside the game has suddenly become very real. The hunters are now the hunted in this monster packed, thrill ride of all out horror and action.

EPSILON SHADOW GATE

Thousands of alien ships take up position in low earth orbit. All eyes are now on a global mission to launch several rockets in the hope to discover their intentions. Alan Doyle had seen the news. He couldn’t get away from it. Even his fellow gamers continued to clog up bandwidth by talking about the new visitors. He didn’t care about them. All Alan wanted was to level up on Battlespawn, to attain the rank to Star Captain and earn himself enough credits to ensure that he never ran out of health ever again. During a rare trip outside, Alan noticed a small silver globe lying on the side of the road. As he picked it up, he saw hundreds more pushing up through the ground. Alan tried to scream as the object melted like mercury and vanished into his palm. Before he blacked out, Alan saw others around him experiencing the same trauma. The alien devices had selected their combatants and took them to the only Total Immersion Game worth playing. The humans weren’t just fighting for their lives, they were fighting for the fate of their planet. The invasion of Earth had begun -ONLINE!

THE LAST DAYS OF MYTH-REAL

The colonists aboard the Branch are en route to a new world. During the long journey, they enter the immersive VR world of “Myth-Real”. Myth-Real is a place of magic and monsters where anything is possible. However, something has gone wrong. Only the latent Tele-mechanic, Alex, can save everyone aboard the ship . . . Assuming of course that the monsters don’t get him first.
