Matthew Earnest, a native of New Jersey, grew a curiosity for horror and the like at a young age. It wasn’t before long he stumbled upon the legend of the Jersey Devil (which ultimately made him an even bigger horror fan and an avid cryptid enthusiast). Some of the parts in JERSEY DEVIL are loosely based on real events Matthew experienced as a middle-schooler. Excited to share his own take on just what the legend of the Jersey Devil entails, he weaves historical and geographical fact into his fiction so the reader can learn something while being creeped out.
